One of the most devastating forms of memory loss is Alzheimer’s disease, an irreversible and progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory & thinking skills. Alzheimer’s disease is the 2nd most-feared illness in America, following cancer. Until recently, medical news on Alzheimer’s disease was not comforting. But in the past few years, advances in many scientific areas have led to an explosion of knowledge with implications for treatment & prevention.
Through The Alzheimer’s Project film series, HBO Documentary Films illuminates the vital breakthroughs occurring in the field, including glimpses inside the laboratories & clinics of the nation’s top scientists & physicians who are clearing the path to a deeper understanding of Alzheimer’s disease.
This powerful documentary series is a fascinating story of scientific discovery that shows what recent breakthroughs might mean for improving our chances of remaining cognitively vital throughout a long life.
There will be a brief period of time for questions & answers at the end of each showing. A certificate of attendance will be provided.
