General Statement of the Job :
|
|
The Provider Account Specialist will support the development and management of the Provider Network for consumers who have been identified as having Mental Health, Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities, or Substance Abuse needs. The Provider Account Specialist will foster a solution focused atmosphere in the Network. The Provider Account Specialist will maintain a leadership role in the development of contracts for agencies and licensed independent practitioners on an ongoing basis and will meet with the administration of provider agencies and Board members as needed to facilitate the goals of the Network, meet consumer needs, and enhance relationships with the Local Management Entity (LME). It is vital that the Provider Account Specialist support consumer and family involvement and the development of Best Practices in the agencies of providers, addressing a comprehensive system of care which will utilize natural supports in the community. This position will be the primary link for providers with the LME.

Essential Job Functions :
|
|
Development of contracts for agencies and licensed independent practitioners and the ongoing monitoring of these contracts for compliance. Enroll providers in the Network according to parameters determined for qualifications and needs of the Network for service providers. Assure enrollment of provider profile information into the CI system. The Provider Account Specialist serves as a liaison between the providers and internal departments. Assist consumers and families as requested in negotiating issues pertinent to service implementation and providers. Participate in quarterly Provider Network meetings, visit provider agencies to facilitate communication and collaboration/training.

Minimum Training and Qualifications :
|
|
A Master’s degree in a Human Service field (such as Psychology, Social Work, etc) and at least three years of progressive experience in the field of mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or substance abuse is preferred. Must be licensed in NC or license eligible in NC. Acceptable licensure includes HSP-PA, LCSW, LPA, LMFT, LPC, PhD or PsyD. Employee must maintain credentials including requirements for licensure (e.g., CEU's).
Additional Training Preferred:
Experience in any of the following areas would be valuable for this employee: Public speaking, mediation, presentation development, group facilitation, advocacy, regulations compliance and project management.

Physical Requirements :
|
|
Normal range of motion and reasonable physical health and strength will be required. Must have driver’s license and must be able to use computers, copiers and other office equipment will be used routinely.
|
|
Knowledge of Job :
|
|
A high level of diplomacy and discretion is required to effectively negotiate and resolve issues with minimal assistance from the Provider Account Manager Supervisor. This will require exceptional interpersonal skills, highly effective communication ability, and the propensity to make prompt independent decisions based upon relevant facts. Problem solving and conflict resolution skills are essential.
As a Provider Account Manager, the employee must be able to identify/analyze administrative problems pertinent to the contract, make independent judgments, logical conclusions, recommendations and decisions. The employee must be able to determine the appropriate course of action in an emergency or stressful situation. The employee must understand LME goals, targets and outcomes in relation to the responsibilities and supporting relationships of the Provider Network Department. The ability to review and analyze data in an effort to evaluate program effectiveness, progress, problems and system performance is essential. The employee must be able to work effectively with others internally and externally. Knowledge of all disability areas including Mental Health, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse is vital. This knowledge base must include an understanding of principles, concepts and Best Practices used in the treatment, habilitation and support of individuals with needs in any of the disability areas.
The Provider Account Manager will be required to multi-task, and must possess strong mediation skills in order to facilitate collaboration and positive relationships between teams, families/consumers, and agencies. Incumbent should be able to foster processes that support complex activities which must occur to achieve system outcomes for the LME. This is a highly collaborative position that requires excellent teambuilding skills.

Salary :
|
|
Grade/Step is determined by qualification and experience of candidate. Position is full-time salary with comprehensive benefits. Work schedule is 37.5 hours per week. This position is exempt from overtime compensation.
|
